TNSTC fined Rs 13,000 over making a passenger pay Rs 1 citing ‘limited stop service’

TNSTC Salem has been fined Rs 13000 for collecting extra Rs 1 from a passenger, K Subrayan, a resident of Namakkal district who was traveling on the city bus from Paramathi Velur to his home. The bus conductor asked him to pay Rs 17 instead of the allotted fare Rs 16 saying that bus was a limited stop service. The bus stopped at all the bus stops. The passenger filed an RTI petition seeking fare details of the route.
