Tablets & E-readers Join laptops in tighter screening at airports
Passengers travelling in US airlines will be required to take out their tablets, e-readers and other large electronic devices from carry-on luggage for inspection. The announcement is a response to a burgeoning threat of hidden explosives in electronic devices, which the US Department of Homeland Security has addressed in recent changes on international flight security protocols. So far, passengers have been required to remove mainly laptops from their bags.
