Railways to review Flexi fare ticketing scheme
To earn revenue without hurting passenger’s pockets, Railways is reviewing the flexi fare system and may slash ticket prices said Railway minister Piyush Goyal. The scheme was introduced in elite trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto on 9 September 2016. Through the scheme, Railways had earned additional revenue of Rs 540 crore but also faced criticism from passengers over the high prices of train tickets.
