IRCTC to pay Rs 1.62 lakh as compensation for late running of Tejas Express

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation(IRCTC) will have to pay a compensation of around Rs 1.62 lakh to its passengers, due to a delay of more than 3 hours in the running of Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express on October 19. The compensation amount will be distributed among nearly 950 passengers through the insurance companies. The train started from Lucknow at around 9.55 am instead of its scheduled departure at 6.10 am.
