Huge drop in railway operating ratio; lowest in 18 years: Report
A drop has been seen in the railway operating ratio and it has fallen to the lowest in 18 years as per CAG report. The report states that the passenger fares are required to be revisited and the special travel concession or subsidies should be scaled down. It was also noticed that 274 cases of rail fractures and 465 cases of weld failures were reported in 2015-2016 session which led to 7 accidents during this period.
