The proposed plans for a high-speed rail line between Malaysia and Singapore have been scrapped by the two countries after the neighbours failed to agree to changes. The 350-kilometre rail network was expected to cut travel time between Singapore and the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur to 90 minutes. It currently takes more than four hours to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore by a car or other personal vehicle.
