Division of Air India into 4 companies to be done by the Govt.
The decision has been taken by the Govt to split the Air India into 4 varied companies- core airline business, regional arm, ground handling and engineering operations. Following the disinvestment plan, each one of these companies will offer 51%. Also, it was made clear by the govt last week, the foreign investors will be allowed to own carrier's 49%. However, Air India is not available to comment on anything now.
