Bangladesh lifts decades-old ban on travel to Israel, foreign ministry says no change in policy

In a major decision, "except Israel" words have been dropped from the Bangladeshi passport, hinting at the lifting of a decades-old ban on travel to Israel. However, the country's foreign minister said that the decision was taken 6 months ago and there was no change in Dhaka's policy towards Tel Aviv. Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said it was done to standardise the passport and Dhaka will not establish ties with Israel.
