20,000 Indians, mainly men sought asylum in US since 2014

As per the data revealed, nearly 20,000 Indians have sought asylum in the US and maximum of them were men. Till July 2018, about 7,214 Indians applied for asylum in the US and out of them, only 296 were women. The data was revealed by the US Department of Homeland Security to the NAPA. In 2014, somewhere around 2,306 Indians applied for asylum out of which women were just 146. And in 2017, almost 3,656 Indians applied.
