11000 trains, 8500 stations to be under CCTV surveillance

India Railways is planning to install approximately 12 lakh CCTV cameras to introduce state-of-the-art surveillance systems for all trains and stations throughout the country. In 2018-19 budgets, there will be a provision of Rs 3,000 crore to set up CCTV systems in all 11,000 trains and all the 8,500 stations that Indian Railways cover. At present, near about 395 stations and 50 trains are under CCTV surveillance.
