The world's tiniest surviving baby girl, weighing just 245 gms (about 8.6 ounces) was born in a San Diego hospital. The baby named Saybie was born at 23 weeks and 3 days & was kept in the neonatal intensive care unit for 5 months. She was sent home this month weighing 5 lbs. Saybie's ranking as the world's smallest baby ever to survive is as per the Tiniest Baby registry maintained by Iowa University.
