The brightest supernova spotted by the astronomers

In a recent paper, astronomers described how they had spotted the brightest supernova ever observed, in 2016. The supernova continued to emit radiation for more than 1,000 days. It has 5 to 10 times the mass of a typical supernova, and it was one of the largest stars ever seen to explode. It occurred around 10 billion years after the Big Bang. Researchers are looking for more such events to know more about the Universe.
