Scientists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison built a 'Mini Sun' to understand how the Sun's magnetic field affects the solar system. They mimicked solar winds & plasma ‘burps’ in a lab with the help of their 3m wide hollow sphere with a strong magnet at its centre & many probes in it, called ‘Big Red Ball.’ They are hopeful that their experiment will provide an “Earth-bound model for the future study of solar physics.”
