Pune-based Serum Institute of India is working on 3 coronavirus vaccine initiatives in its endeavour to defeat COVId-19. SII developing a vaccine along with UK's Oxford University and another one jointly with a US-based biotech firm Codagenix. Besides, it is working on a recombinant BCG vaccine on its own. SII is now the world's largest vaccine manufacturer with over 1.5 billion doses produced globally.
