With a population of only 39,000 people, the city of Kwinana is now famous for coming up with the idea of covering the drains with nets and recycling the garbage, which cost them only $20,000. This method is cheap, simple, and effective, with many countries adopting this method into their own system as well. This will not cure the waste problem permanently, but it will help to avoid the difficulties that arise as a result of it.
