ISRO receives patent for its manufacturing method of highland 'Made in India' lunar soil

The ISRO has received the patent for its method of manufacturing highland moon soil. As a part of the Chandrayaan-2 mission, the ISRO had prepared an artificial moon surface to test Vikram lander and Pragyaan rover. Indian Patent Office granted a patent to ISRO for this invention, which is valid for 20 years from May 15, 2014. The ISRO had taken the anorthosite rocks from Sithampoondi & Kunnamalai villages in TN for moon soil.
