India ranks 5th in countries hit by spam calls in 2019: Truecaller

India is the world's fifth-most spam-affected country in 2019. The list is topped by Brazil, Peru, Indonesia, and Mexico. The data was shared by Truecaller in its Global Insights Report 2019. The statistics show that the biggest spammers globally are the telecom operators while others include telemarketing calls, communication from financial services and scams. Also, one in three women in India receives inappropriate calls and SMS.
