India's 1st civil aircraft test flights after nearly a decade
A prototype of India's 1st civil aeroplane, Saras, has successfully completed a test flight in Bengaluru for the 1st time in almost a decade. The 14-seater civil aircraft was initially an Indo-Russian project but when the Russian counterpart backed out NAL acquired it. In 2009, a Saras prototype crashed during a test flight. The project was in limbo since then, but last year it received a 1 billion govt funding.
