Signal, the encrypted messaging app that gained popularity after privacy concerns related to Facebook and Whatsapp emerged in the market, appears to have been blocked in China. Signal users in China were unable to access the app starting Monday night. Some users used VPN to change their location and open the app. While Beijing has every intention of cracking down on social media platforms, an official confirmation is yet awaited.
