A long floating device designed by the Dutch scientists has captured and retained debris from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The cleaning system is designed to collect visible and tiny pieces of plastic from the ocean bed. Apart from plastic, it has also collected discarded fishing nets, fishing gears and a tire. It is hoped that this project will be able to clean up half the debris from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
