Facebook won't stop political ad targeting or false claims under new ad rules

Facebook opposed public calls to adopt significant limits on political advertising ahead of the 2020 presidential elections and instead opts to introduce changes that allow users to control more of the ads they see. The new rules of the company continue to allow politicians to make false claims in the paid political posts. However, users can select to stop seeing ads from particular campaigns and other entities.
