The Chinese official media Global Times broke the story first. First activated in December last year, it broke the previous world record easily. The Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) reactor is considered China's largest and most technologically advanced nuclear fusion research equipment. The capacity to run at a steady temperature for a week, according to Li Miao, might be the next target for EAST.
