A new study says nearly 36 million Indians will be threatened by annual floods by 2050 if greenhouse gas emissions are not reduced. It showed the potential of climate change to reshape cities, economies and coastlines within our lifetimes. It warned that by 2100, 44 million people will face the risk of annual flooding due to the rise in sea level. The findings are based on CoastalDEM, a new digital elevation model.
