A Girl's brain surgery live-streamed on Facebook live while being wide awake

For the first time, doctors at Methodist Dallas Medical Centre live-streamed a girl's brain surgery on Facebook while she was wide awake. According to NBC, this operation was done to remove tangled blood vessels which had affected her ability to talk and was causing seizures. Jenna Schardt had to remain awake for part of the surgery so that doctors could be sure that they weren't damaging critical brain functions.
