2019 was the second hottest year on record: European Union

The EU's climate monitoring service said that 2019 was the hottest year on record. The data released by C3S shows that worldwide temperatures in 2019 were 2nd only to 2016, in which temperatures were boosted 0.12 deg Celsius by a strong El Nino event. The average temperature in 2019 was only a few hundredths of a degree below the 2016 level. Last year, it was Europe's hottest year & also saw the most notable warming in Alaska.
