Startups protest against ‘angel tax’ with e-petition
A number of entrepreneurs have come together with a petition through Change.org platform against the authenticity of 'angel tax', introduced in 2012, demanded by income tax authorities. Last year several startups were sent assessment notices and orders asking to pay a decent amount of funds raised for income tax. The petition says these notices & assessment orders demoralises the Startup India movement’s spirit.
