Last year, India played a Test series in England under the captaincy of Virat Kohli and a white-ball series in Sri Lanka with Shikhar Dhawan leading the team at the same time. The BCCI secretary Jay Shah believes that they are ready to field two different national teams if such a scenario arrives in the future. Shah has also said that BCCI is in discussion with various boards, including ICC, to plan a separate window for the IPL 2023 season.
