Sunil Kumar wins India a Greco-Roman Asian gold after 27 years

Sunil Kumar beat Azat Salidinov of Kyrgyzstan 5-0 in the 87kg final bout to give India its first Greco-Roman gold medal in Asian Wrestling Championships in 27 years. The last Indian Greco-Roman wrestler to clinch a gold at Asian Championships was Pappyu Yadav in 1993. Sunil’s gold medal bout came after a come-from-behind victory in the semifinal. Arjun Halakurki (55 kg) won a bronze beating Donghyeok Won of Korea.
