Putin confirms Russia to contest doping ban

Russia have decided to appeal against the latest ban from major sporting events due to doping violations. President Vladimir Putin insisted Russia’s suspension is unfair and said athletes should be allowed to compete under the national flag. On December 10, WADA has banned Russia for 4 years from major global sport events, including 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 Qatar World Cup for manipulating doping data.
