Ponting reveals who gave him the nickname 'Punter'

Touted to be one of the most successful captains of all-time, Ricky Ponting is also called 'Punter' by his former teammates and fans. The Aussie cricket icon recently revealed who gave him the nickname Punter and the reason behind it. It was Shane Warne who coined the name. Ponting and Warne are friends from their academy days and the name Punter came as Ponting used to bet on dogs in racing in those days.
