Lionel Messi won a record-extending 6th and 3rd consecutive European Golden Shoe award for his remarkable individual 2018-19 club season performance. The award is given to the top goalscorer in league football in Europe. The Argentine scored 36 times last season as Barcelona retained their La Liga title. Messi left behind his nearest rival Kylian Mbappe, who scored 33 goals for PSG in France’s Ligue 1, by 3 goals.
