The Indian cricket team beat Sri Lanka in the first T20I on Thursday. Batting first, India put up 199 for 2 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan led the way with an 89-run knock. Shreyas Iyer slammed an unbeaten fifty. In reply, Sri Lanka failed to chase down the target. The Lankans struggled with the bat to surrender the tie. The two teams have faced each other on 23 occasions in T20Is to date. India have won 15 matches.
