Ashleigh Barty and Nadal claim season-ending ITF awards

Ashleigh Barty and Rafa Nadal were named ITF World Champions for 2019 after a superlative season finishing at the top of women’s & men’s rankings. Barty, who had quit tennis for cricket in 2014 returned to the game in 2016 and became the first Australian to win the French Open since Margaret Court in 1973. Nadal sealed a historic 12th French Open and a 4th U.S. Open, plus helping Spain to their 6th Davis Cup title.
