The US House of Representatives has passed a bill to remove limits on green cards, a move which benefits high-skilled information technology professionals. The bill was championed by a widow of an Indian man killed in a hate crime back in February 2017. The widow made multiple visits to Washington to advocate for the legislation. The green card will now allow a person to live and work permanently in the US.
