UGC recommends Institute of Eminence to DU, BHU, IIT -Kharagpur & Madras

The UGC has recommended granting of Institute of Eminence status to DU, Hyderabad University, BHU, Jadavpur University, IITs-Madras, and Kharagpur. The recommendation for Jadavpur and Anna universities is subject to consultation with the respective state government. 6 others have been recommended for issuing the Letter of Intent for the eminence status. 6 private institutions have made the cut for issuing Letter of Intent.
