Shashi Tharoor summons Facebook to appear before parliamentary panel after controversy over hate speech

Congress leader and chairman of the parliamentary panel on IT Shashi Tharoor has called social media giant Facebook to appear before the parliamentary panel on September 2 over the hate speech row. Tharoor has asked Facebook to depose before the panel on 'safeguarding citizens’ rights and prevention of misuse of social/online news media platforms including special emphasis on women security in the digital space'.
