RTI says: Government of India owes Air India Rs 600 crore as the airline struggles to raise money

As Air India continues to sell the property to raise money, the government of India owes the financially struggling airlines Rs 598.55 crore. Almost half of these dues are from the PM's office which is yet to pay Rs 297.08 crore mostly for aircraft maintenance. Retired Commodore Lokesh Batra said 2008 payments are still pending and the Comptroller & Auditor General had flagged delay in payments in 2016 from govt.
