Mosques to remain open in Pakistan despite surging virus threat

Bowing down to the pressure from the clerics, Pakistan has allowed conditional congregational prayers in mosques in the month of Ramzan. The decision undoubtedly endangers the fight to stop the spread of coronavirus. President Dr Arif Alvi announced the news after a meeting with religious leaders and political representatives of all provinces. The clerics will follow the government guidelines on social distancing.
