What is Mission Shakti: India's maiden successful ASAT test?

India has successfully conducted mission Shakti, a massive boost to the Indian space power. Shakti is India's maiden anti-satellite mission test. India is now capable of interdicting and intercepting a satellite in outer space based on Indigenous technology. During the test DRDO's Ballistic missile defence interceptor was used and the test was done in the lower atmosphere to avoid the creation of space debris.
