What is J&K's public safety act which invoked against former CM's of the state?

Since the abrogation of Article 370, former J&K chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have been detained. This took place on Thursday when Public Safety Act was levied. According to this law, any individual can be detained without a trial. Ali Mohammad Sagar and Sartaj Madani were also detained. The PSA came into existence in 1978 to be acted against the timber smugglers in the forests of Jammu & Kashmir.
