Eknath Shinde takes oath as Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis his deputy

Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde on Thursday evening took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as his deputy. The political turmoil in Maharashtra came to an end yesterday as Uddhav Thackeray resigned as the CM. This came minutes after the Supreme Court refused to stay the floor test on June 30 as directed by Governor BS Koshyari.
