Centre mandates digital payments on highway toll plaza from December; else 'pay double'

The centre has made digital payments on highway toll plazas mandatory from December to ensure 'no-cash' scene, in the form of FASTag and RFID. Govt has asked to impose a penalty on Non-FASTag users passing through FASTag lanes; which is to pay double the fees. RFID-based FASTag facilitates the non-stop movement of vehicles via toll plazas by employing RFID to make toll payments directly from prepaid accounts linked to it.
