Accused 9/11 mastermind offers to help victims' families if US drops death penalty: Letter

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the accused mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks, offered to help the victims' families who have filed a lawsuit against Saudi Arabia for the damages caused on a condition if the US govt drops death penalty against him. His offer was disclosed in a letter filed in the US District Court in Manhattan. The Saudi govt had long denied involvement in the attacks. Khalid has been held for nearly 13 years at Cuba.
