12 GST council members have opted for the borrowing option

Weeks after the controversy that was sparked after the borrowing option given by the Union Finance Ministry for the GST funds, twelve of the 13 members of the GST Council have preferred the Rs 97,000 crore borrowing option. Manipur, the 13th state, has preferred the second option of a loan of Rs 2.35 lakh crore. Six states have communicated to the finance ministry that they would convey their choice next week.
