The Mars Orbiter Mission, also known as Mangalyaan, is a space probe that has been orbiting Mars since September 24, 2014. The Indian Space Research Organisation launched it on November 5, 2013. (ISRO). It is India's first interplanetary mission, making it the fourth space agency after Roscosmos, NASA, and the European Space Agency to reach Mars orbit. It made India the first Asian country to reach Martian orbit and the first country in the world to do so on its first try.
