Sivanthi Adityan (September 24, 1936 – April 19, 2013) was an Indian media magnate who owned the Tamil newspapers Daily Thanthi and Maalaimalar. In 1959, Sivanthi launched the first evening Tamil daily Maalai Murasu in Tirunelveli. He was a philanthropist, an educator, and an industrialist. The Government of India bestowed the Padma Shri upon him. People referred to him as "Chinna Ayya" as a mark of respect. Adithan purchased the NDTV Hindu news channel in 2012 and renamed it Thanthi TV. From 1987 to 1996, he served as President of the Indian Olympic Association.
