Tupac Amaru Shakur, also known as 2Pac and Makaveli, was an American rapper who was born Lesane Parish Crooks on June 16, 1971 and died on September 13, 1996. He is regarded as one of the most influential rappers of all time. Shakur is one of the best-selling musicians of all time, having sold over 75 million records worldwide. Much of Shakur's music has been praised for addressing contemporary social issues that plagued inner cities, and he is regarded as a symbol of anti-inequality activism.
