The Japanese ship Taiyo Maru landed at Honolulu in November 1941, carrying 340 passengers, including Suguru Suzuki, the Japanese Imperial Navy's youngest lieutenant commander. His covert objective was to validate information regarding Pearl Harbor defenses and get more data from Japanese sources in Honolulu. According to the spy, Suzuki submitted a list of 97 questions to Yoshikawa via Consul General Kita on a "tiny ball of crumpled rice paper." He had 24 hours to answer. Yoshikawa recounted some of Suzuki's queries and replies in a 1960 article:

The British viceroy invited Nehru, as President of the Congress, to establish an interim administration.

Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman, often known as VVS Laxman, is a former Indian cricketer who was born in Hyderabad on November 1, 1974. He was a right-handed batter who was also one of the greatest. He was also a part-time off-break right-handed bowler. Because of his surname VVS Laxman, he was also known as Very Very Special Laxman. His 281-run innings against Australia at Eden Gardens in 2001 is regarded as the best Test effort in the previous 50 years. Along batting Rahul Dravid, he holds the record for the biggest third-inning partnership (376 runs) in a test match.

In 1948, France and India agreed that the inhabitants of France's Indian possessions would choose their political future. French India was not de jure united with the Indian Union until 1962.
