Jagdish Chandra Bose was a world-renowned Indian scientist. He was the first to demonstrate that plants and metals, like humans, had feelings. Jagdish Chandra Bose was born in Mymensingh on November 30, 1858. (now in Bangladesh). Bhagabanchandra Bose, his father, was a Deputy Magistrate. Jagadish Chandra Bose had his early schooling in a Bengal medium country school. Jagadish Chandra Bose was moved to Calcutta in 1869 to study English and was educated at St. Xavier's School and College. He was an outstanding student. In 1879, he received his B.A. in physical sciences.
