Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman, often known as VVS Laxman, is a former Indian cricketer who was born in Hyderabad on November 1, 1974. He was a right-handed batter who was also one of the greatest. He was also a part-time off-break right-handed bowler. Because of his surname VVS Laxman, he was also known as Very Very Special Laxman. His 281-run innings against Australia at Eden Gardens in 2001 is regarded as the best Test effort in the previous 50 years. Along batting Rahul Dravid, he holds the record for the biggest third-inning partnership (376 runs) in a test match.
